Cold Turkey

Zach quit smoking cold turkey.  I just bought some frozen ground turkey.  Coincidence? You be the judge.

I am getting damn good at stretching a buck.  Hunted up some marvelous deals at the commissary today, made that $20 take us through lotsa meals.  Ground turkey in 1-pound packages for sixty cents apiece.  Never tried ground turkey, but what the hell, at that price... <shrug>.

I hate this shit, ya know?  Domestic arts.  I mean, I am proud I can find a deal, but still, I look at this and go "Is this me??!!"

I didn't buy cigarettes today.  Still haven't decided whether to quit myself in support of Zach, or not.  While the jury is still out, I won't buy em.  Hell, I could stay undecided for a long damn time, and achieve the same thing as a yes vote.  I tend to quit when pregnant, and pick it up again later, so I know I can take a long hiatus.  It's just hard, is all.

Pregnant.

I been eyeballing those ads in the classified paper that goes around for free.  Folks practiacally begging for surrogate mothers.  I been thinking on it some, as pregnancy seems to be one of the things I do well.  Nutrition and exercise are not a problem.  Now, that first trimester, with the throwing up...well, maybe it'd be worth it.  Going compensation is in the ballpark of $12-15 grand right now.  That's some pretty darn strong incentive, especially in the face of hard times ahead.  Course they might not want somebody with herpes, even though it didn't affect delivery with any of my boys.  Or they could stipulate C-section, I suppose.

I dunno.  Nine months from whatever implantation takes hold.  That's a long commitment, and these are turbulent times.

That ground turkey went real well with a packet of garlic Pasta 'n' Sauce.  Lean.  Nutritous.  Will keep that in mind.
