The Hangar - flight...and soda

Quick and Dirty Journal

Sorry if there is any confusion. This is not a guestbook, it's an experiment in CGI journalling. Thanks.
Is this thing working yet?

So, I was back in Red Bank tonight, and lo and behold, all the signs were gone from the window of Leatherworks. I guess they decided not to "Go Internet" after all. The place was open and apparently ready for business the usual way. I have no idea what all of that meant.

I did not go back to Broad Street, so I didn't peek in Jay and Silent Bob's again. But I did stop in Pulse Records and hang for awhile. The shop was quiet, just one guy sampling the records and the guy behind the counter. I shoulda got his name. He asked if I needed help with something. I said I need help with everything. That got a grin. But he and this friend of his who walked in helped me figure out some of what I like, and I walked out with two vinyl records. Good going. Nevermind I got nothing to play them on. I'm sure I can get somebody to put em on tape for me.

I get really restless in both fall and spring, but more so in the fall. Had an attack last night in fact. When my dad gets that way he drives and drives, backroads and stuff but driving here is not a joy. I went down to Red Bank and walked and walked. I was limping from my lousy hip when I was done.

I took a close look at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. For those who know Kevin Smith films, Silent Bob is actually Kevin, and he and Jason Mewes own this comic book store there. Well, SOMEbody has a new baby girl, because the decorations were all over the store window.

I saw the most unusal sign in a leather shop window. "Gone Internet" it said. "All racks and displays for sale. 50% off inventory." Their URL is http://www.leatherworks.com. I guess they must be on an order-for-order basis if they are clearing out their inventory, maybe hitting up their suppliers for exactly wht was ordered. Makes sense, really. Saves on the storefront rent and warehouse cost. I saw a house I would probably love to be a housemate in. It was a huge aging Victorian in the Kappa Mutha Fucka style (see http://www.spies.com/~gus/musings/) and the curtains were very colorful sheets. Techno music throbbed through the cracks, and an upstairs window revealed a Christmas star hung on the wall over someone's bedroom door. +Two bicycles were chained on the porch.

And after some struggling, I got these to post properly.

Finally I did it. I cleaned up the page and started afresh. There's a link down there to the previous entries.

I'm still reeling over Friday's revelation that I'm to be the new NT network admin for our bigass complex and convoluted system, one that involves Palm Pilots, docking stations, multiple modems, a digital printer/copier, and workstations, some of which will be running Win95 and others Win98. Server and hub right here in my frickin office. Gotta move the furniture again. I know nothing of these things. Yet.
