Mysterious Fire Destroys Warehouse
Farmingdale - Late last night a two alarm fire brought volunteer
firefighters from four neighboring towns to the industrial district just
outside Farmingdale where the SpringDew Web Design warehouse was already
more than half consumed by flames.
"All we could do was watch," said one of the first
firefighters on the scene. "The roof was going and there was just
no way to save it." The entire inventory was destroyed, creative
works since the end of September of last year, which had been specially
packed against breakage and even palleted against flood.
"Yeah, well, of course it sucks," said the owner,
Spring
Dew. "That's a lot of inventory, and it's gone. But I'll
start over. I've done it before, and I can do it again. Thank
god for insurance."
Investigators have yet to disclose their findings
as to the cause of the fire, which occurred around midnight, when no workers
were supposedly on the premises. At this point, arson has not been
mentioned as a likelihood by the police, although rumors abound.
