My tips:
a) Charge yourself with going overboard in carrying yourself with dignity. Never drop to their level. Never. Confident Queens don’t do that.b) Find some fabulous women in your organization and build relationships with them. Volunteer for their committees, take some extra work, whatever. It WILL pay off.
c) This is part of ‘a’ but … be polite and treat meanies with respect, but do NOT extend that into sharing information about yourself. No matter how innocuous, it WILL be used against you. Be a cool, dignified mystery.

One of my responsibilities is to update a whiteboard chart with statistics regarding the previous seven days. There are really only two numbers I am interested in, one of which occurs at the beginning of the line of data and the other at the end. That’s how many calls we got and what percentage of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) we achieved, respectively. Here’s how much a dweeb I am. I don’t spoiler myself for the SLA. I specifically do not look at the end until I’m writing that part.

In other matters - as jwz says, “Dear Lazyweb …” My LJ friends, feeds, and communities are not quite out of hand, but getting there. I am missing things I want to read because my level of organization has dropped to such that I can’t catch up on LJ during breaks and lunch anymore. I am setting up new filters to help with this, but adding things to my filters through LJ’s default interface is pretty much a pain in the ass. What I need is a tool that will give me a grid of my friends and my filters so I can check off who should be in what all in one swell foop.
Has anyone created such a thing?
In science news, NASA Shuttle to Launch Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber. Apparently there’s going to be a large amount of elaborate ceremony, starting with the airplane flight out of Oakland.
Joining “Chewie” will be other characters from the six-part sci-fi classic, including Boba and Jango Fett and together they help push back the airplane on the tarmac.
