I was looking for stuff about immunizations and immigration when I stumbled upon this site:

This excellently lays out the process that we’ve been going through. Right now, we are towards the end of Part 4:

wlofie has had his medical examinations and gotten most of his shots. We might need to get the embassy officer to extend the time limit, because one of the required vaccinations (chickenpox) will take 3 weeks just to obtain, and another month to verify immunity. Next step is the consular interview:
