Viral Worm – Batten Down The Hatches

I don’t like the use of the word “viral” there – it’s incorrect, but some folks won’t know what I am talking about if I don’t.

– Everyone should update their virus definitions now.
– Those who use the preview pane in Outlook or Outlook Express need to disable it now. Ude the “View” menu under “Layout” to do this.
– Don’t open or look at any messages claiming to be from Microsoft.
– If you see this in your Inbox, it’s probably too late:

I guess it is a good thing that I actually paid Symantec for auto updates. I’ve already got 5 instances of that puppy in my quarantine folder. It is identified as W32.Swen.A@mm.

Good thing I switched to Redhat. I really dodged a bullet on that one. ::cackle::

No kidding. I’ve had customers with less-than-stellar anti-viral packages get hit with this one, even though they were staying updated.

*squeeze* LOL I already caught that worm, but it’s nice to get it again.

Sorry I won’t be seeing you around the salt mines, but I sure hope this opens up the gateway to something Far Better.

    Yay for you!

Although I didn’t have enough patience to tolerate Linux for a desktop system. I <3 Linux servers so very, very, much – they just don’t suit me for PC work.

Windows doesn’t suit me either, in fact it pisses me the fuck off, but the fit is a little bit closer.
