… not to mention my knowledge about it. I hate it that I can describe what kinds of music I like but I can’t usually give examples, because I always hear them in passing or somewhere else, and seldom ever catch artist names or titles, and sometimes not even lyrics. It feels perplexing and stupid listening closely to a song to try to get a snippet of a lyric so that I can look it up on the net later to see what it is, and coming up with nothing other than “tears in my eyes” which could be any of 5,000 or more songs.
Helping me out a little bit is an Internet radio station called This is Corrosion. I have been jamming for two nights straight. Sometimes they play something a little mainstream-y, but most of the time not. I like it.
Last 9 tracks played:
1 Monsters
2 gearwhore - 11-11
3 Funker Vogt - Gunman
4 Mortiis - Spirit in a Vacuum
5 Suicide Commando - acid bath
6 Industrial Monk - Kyrie
7 God Module - Dreams Collide
8 Noise Unit - Corroded Decay
9 Informatik - Physical Education
Another help is the All Music Guide, which has a vast expanse of information and such handy tools as genre mapping, so you can see just how it is that Goth is related to Glam. Heh.

I’m just playing around with filters here. I’m thinking of creating special-purpose filters - for special purposes.

When I was thinking of tis the other day, I came up with a lot more entries on the list than this, but they are now escaping me. If you know what I mean by a pervy voice (no offense intended!) and can suggest any, please let me know.
