I have a huge headache. I wish I could say it was a hangover from the party last night, but that's not so - it's been killing me for days. In fact, I wound up needing to leave the party after only two and a half hours, despite all the hard work I put into my costume, and how patient Azagthoth and Napalm have been in putting up with the smell of liquid latex. Right now I'm feeding the headache the magical four - food, water, coffee, aspirin - and hopefully I can banish the damn thing today.
I thought we had several pictures of my costume, but I was wrong. Really wanted to post one today. Hopefully, some of the other folks who took pictures will have some they can send me.
I just slept for something like 12 hours, which was important because I needed it badly. Last week was hell on sleep, due to the aforementioned costume project and the scheduling change. God, the scheduling change! It really sucks monkey ass. I miss my old team something fierce. Might go over and visit them around their lunchtime.
I missed Wlofie a lot yesterday, because we didn't get to see each other due to the aforementioned costume project, but I'll see him in about an our or so. Woooo hoooo!
The reason the costume project wreaked such havoc was that, due to the goddamned scheduling change, I no longer could go to Halloween parties set for Halloween, next Thursday, but instead wound up going to a party that before I wouldn't have been able to attend, one that was last night, Saturday. That severely shortened the amount of time I had left to finish the costume. I was going to use my weekend of last Thursday and Friday nights to work on this, but those weren't my weekend nights anymore. Grrrr. Reminds me, I need to write the letter to my manager thanking him for his personal handling of the scheduling change, and most especially thanking him for the assurance that should staffing needs rise again, and the other team needs another member, I have first dibs.
My company is having a Halloween party in the afternoon on Thursday. I'm thinking I might go, but who's going to hand out candy to the neighborhood kids? This neighborhood is saturated with them, and I am sure we'll get lots of trick-or-treaters. This isn't Napalm's holiday in any shape, so I'm not really expecting him to feel enthused about something like that. I'll need to get with Wlofie too about when to meet that night.
Complications aside, it's still my favorite holiday. Hands down.
