The Spanish Translation of Silence
It's Cowboy Bebop Day in the land of bored imprisonment. The What Cowboy Bebop Character Are You test says I am Jet. Wow. I dug the link up myself, as the test did not give any images or text or anything. So that's why it doesn't say things like, "You are tough yet domestic. You can beat the snot out of bounty heads just before you whip up some pepper beef. You have the serenity of a bonsai keeper, and are well connected to a network of old friends and colleagues."
It did say that my second most likely persona is Doohan, the old guy who overhauls Spike's Swordfish. Heh.
Some things are just plain wrong. Woefully wrong.
While I was waiting for the train, I heard the "bing bong" sound over the PA system that precedes announcements. I'm used to this, no big deal. Except there was no announcement. Thirty seconds later, another "bing bong" and no announcement. After about three or four minutes, the pair of empty alerts happened again. I realized that somebody had left the announcement system on, with no message. Usually the system says things like, "Southbound train 006 is delayed by five minutes." Then thirty seconds later, it says the same thing in Spanish. What I was hearing was a whole lot of nothing in English, and the Spanish translation of silence right after that.
