| The Feeling of Love...
Finally, after 24 hours of sloppy, trickly, might-as-well-not-be-existent internet, finally we are up and running again. Telocity and the phone company did some upgrades simultaneously and totally fuct the network. Occasionally some email or newsgroup traffic would trickle through. Once in a long while a webpage would load up. For the most part, nada.
Napalm's been trying to get the dialup that Blue Rajah lent us to work, but it's been a busy signal festival. Probably all the Telocity customers flooding over, just like us.
ExplodingGoat has been going a bit slow. Something of a lack of submissions. But I got a really, really challenging one today. Even more than Santa and the Elf Credit Cards. It's so challenging that I wound up hitting up the alt.polyamory newsgroup for some input.

Subject: sorta OT: The feeling of love
This is a little off topic, but maybe not. I just wanted to gather some ideas on a subject, for a project.
I have a site where I take a title that someone gives me and make a story or poem from it. It's like ExplodingDog but in words instead of pictures. It's at http://www.explodinggoat.com.
Someone has sent me this title (yes, even though it is a complete sentence - I don't think everyone understands the concept), and though I strongly disagree with the premise put forth, I still want to do justice to the subject.
Title Idea
The feeling of love is not unlike that of sexual intercourse.
I can think of lots of ways love IS unlike that of sexual intercourse, but not ways in which they are similar. For me there has always been a big difference, although the two often go hand in hand.
Anyway, I would love to hear any ideas, feelings, impressions, whatever, from both sides of the premise, and hopefully that'll spark something I can write about.
This is probably the most difficult title I've been given so far. Well, ok, Santa and the Elf Credit Cards was pretty hard. :-)

So far, there has been a little bit of input, but not enough yet to really spark me. I did have this to say though, when one person put forth some "doing" ideas about love and sex, and I wanted a bit more input on "feeling":
To me, the feeling of love is a radiant heat. NRE* type love can be leaping like lava in the crater of a volcano, while ORE** type love can feel steady and nourishing like the sun. There's more variation on the theme, to be sure.
The feeling of sexual intercourse is really visceral and meaty to me, corporeal. It's grabbable, a wrestling thing.
I find both pleasurable and satisfying, especially, as you point out, in mutual expression. And combining them is heavenly. But I still find the feeling of each thing as different from the other.
I'd really like to hear more about how others think and feel about the subject.
Heh, still wondering how to make a story or poem out of it.
The input blank of the ExplodingGoat page is anonymous, although I could probably do an IP trace to find out who it was and ask them for clarification on what they were trying to say. But that would be cheating, wouldn't it?
