I forgot to write how all the testing came out. My appointment was on such a crazy day with so much more craziness to follow - it was a wet blizzard day - that it all just drove it right out.
All my bloodwork came back as normal (if testing levels) or negative (if testing FOR a condition). No HIV, no Hepatitis, no sign of anemia, etc etc.
I told the doctor that I suspect it was a mon-like thing that has been going around, and he did not shoot me down. People I have talked to have had the same symptoms that I had, for about the duration that I had.
I feel better these days, although Rebar did point out last night that I really should try to get to the root of the ongoing problems I have that do not seem to be related to that period of illness, and that is namely the constant joint pain and the intermittent diarrhea I've had since Desert Storm.
I have another follow up appointment coming up eventually, so I'll bring it up then.
